SA EcoFest Committee
Purpose of Committee: Sustainable Arlington's EcoFest Committee works in cooperation with the Town's committee to develop the annual theme as well as to plan, publicize and host the event. The goal is to take an important issue that is of ecological/environmental importance and relates to all of us in some way. Last year's event looked at water -- the water that comes from our taps, stormwater (rain and snow melt), as well as Arlington's seven local water bodies.
EcoFest 2012: Locavoracious ... About Food!!
Arlington's fourth annual EcoFest, scheduled for Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will focus on many aspects of food, including: growing our own food, edible landscaping, local farmers markets, eating with the seasons, food waste (how come so much gets wasted from farm to table and what can be done about it?), the carbon and water footprint of various types of food, food distribution, and much more. We are planning a few related events as well.
This update is being posted on Jan. 5. If you'd like to help prepare for the 3/31/12 EcoFest, please contact one of the following committee members.
