October 24, 2009 - Regional Energy Revolution Rally, International Day of Climate Action (o)

Spearheaded by Bill McKibben's www.350.org (where you can find more information), this will be a day for citizens around the world to show their support for a strong climate treaty to be agreed to at the United Nations talks in Copenhagen in December 2009.  More than 350 rallies, demonstrations and other events are being planned at some of the Earth's most iconic places.  GWEN is working with a number of other organizations to orchestrate a Boston area rally from 2 to 4PM  at the Old North Bridge in Concord, MA 01742.  Numerous politicians, celebrities and other prominent citizens (to be announced) have been invited to speak. A brief month planning meeting for the October 24th rally will be held on the third Thursday of each month at 8:15PM at the Whole Foods, 170 Great Road, in Bedford, MA 01730. All local climate activitis, and especially those who are willing to serve in a leadership position in their city or town, are invited to attend.
